Manhattan Specialists Center is a Cardiovascular Ambulatory Surgery Center located in Manhattan, KS. Our facility is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. Job Summary
- Responsible for assisting administrator with directing, coordinating, and controlling all aspects of the operating functions, processes, and staff of the facility while demonstrating the primary goal of efficiently. Provide surgical services that exceed patient expectations and improve clinical and financial operations of the origination.
Responsibilities and Expectations
- Serving, along with any committee appointed for the purpose, as a liaison between the staff, Governing Board and the Medical Staff.
- Following the Organization’s Bylaws and reporting to the Administrator.
- Planning for the services provided by the facility and the operation of the facility.
- Providing financial reports monthly. Closely monitor variations in the financial performance of the facility to avoid cash flow problems.
- Participate in management meetings with the Administrator and Medical Director.
Business Operations
- Working with staff to maintain a successful QAPI program.
- Ensure compliance with the policies and procedures as related to the organization.
- Develop, monitor, and control the staffing needs and operations budget.
- Develop, monitor, and control the purchasing plan and maintain compliance with group purchasing initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with government regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies.
- Negotiate and control all external contracts, such as those with physicians, ancillary services, plant maintenance, and purchasing agreements.
- Develop and ensure compliance with appropriate policy and procedures.
- Ensure all procedures are approved by insurance and meet medical necessity.
Personnel Administration
- Hold monthly staff meetings outlining goals and priorities of the facility.
- Manage employees in accordance with the facility policies while utilizing sound principles of practice and fairness.
- Review employee performance and disciplinary action and/or discharge of employees. Maintain and manage all employee files and records.
- Evaluate management performance and other staff as designated.
- Implements a program of job-based orientation, training, and ongoing evaluation for all employees.
- Provide educational opportunities for professional staff development. Promote the implementation of positive customer relations by the employees and physicians.
Clinical Services
- Ensure that the surgical programs and clinical services are following the respective components of regulatory body and accrediting body standards. Work in conjunction with the Medical Director in the evaluation and development of existing and new surgical services at the facility.
- Monitor the adequate function of surgical equipment and patient care equipment through contracted services and follow-up on repairs.
- Assist in identifying and developing new services defined as appropriate for ambulatory surgery centers.
Quality Improvement
- Develop, evaluate, and promote implementation of a continuous quality improvement program.
- Working with staff to maintain a successful infection control program and provide quarterly updates to medical staff.
- Identify and correct quality care issues.
- Serve as a member of the Quality Improvement Committee.
Medical Staff Relationships
- Collaborate with the Medical Director in the review and revision of the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules and Regulations.
- Collaborate with the Administrator and Medical Director and promote positive relationships between employees and practitioners.
Administrative Representative
- Attend corporate administrative meetings representing the facility.
- Act in accordance with the vision and mission of the facility.
- Maintain membership in professional associations relevant to ambulatory surgery facilities and healthcare administration.
- Stay current in changes in the healthcare environment, such as reimbursement, legislative issues and business law, and act accordingly in the best interest of the corporation.
Personal Development and Professionalism
- Identify areas that require additional reinforcement through education,
- Follow the facility's professional conduct and dress code policy.
- Maintain patient, physician, and employee privacy and confidentiality per policy.
- Communicate effectively and courteously with patients, visitors, physicians, and employees.
Required Experience/Qualifications
- Previous Administrative experience preferred.
- Clinical experience as a Registered Nurse are encouraged to apply.
- Ability to work well with physicians, employees, patients, and others.
