This critical role performs various duties related to patient assistance, patient transportation and the maintenance and stocking of department equipment and supplies. Performs and documents in the patients' electronic health record (EHR), basic nursing care such as ADLs, collecting routine specimens, vital signs, intake, output and weight. Communicating Effectively: Performs all tasks as delegated by the Registered Nurse. Communicates routinely with the Registered Nurse and immediately reports any findings or concerns. Communicates plans for patient care and updates patients accordingly. Responsible for secretarial duties, as assigned. Demonstrating Clinical Competency: Performs procedures and treatments such as EKGs, point of care testing, orthopedic device application, basic wound care, application and monitoring of patient’s response to restraints and constant observation. Effective Teamwork: Demonstrates problem solving, conflict resolution, and collaboration. Requirements: Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Certification: CPR certification required at time of hire CPI required within 6 months of hire Basic computer skills required. Effective communication, organizational and critical thinking skills. Preferred Skills: Experience: Certification: Graduate of Certified Nurse Assistant or EMT Program, or former experience in the capacity of a nurse assistant, orderly, EMT, medical assistant, or adequate clinical experience as a student nurse.
