What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Assembler position at Machine Builders of New England?
Assembler Job Responsibilities:
We are looking to add an assembler to our team, mainly to assist with Bridgeport Machine rebuilding operations. Assembler may need to support shop floor with deburring, polishing, maintaining equipment when extra help is needed.
Assembler Job Duties:
- Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
- Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
- Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.
- Use test and measurement equipment to inspect and ensure assembly was done correctly.
- Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualification requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1-2 years mechanical or automotive experience preferred, or a strong aptitude for understanding how things work.
- Basic reading skills. Must be able to follow directions
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
- High attention to detail and self-motivation skills
Physical demands and abilities
- Regularly lift up to 50 pounds
- Regularly perform repetitive tasks
- Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately
- Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time
This is a Full-time, Day Shift position.

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
