Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary, a dog rescue group in Lake Odessa, needs an enthusiastic, versatile, team-player to serve as their Volunteer Coordinator.
Job Summary: To provide an excellent volunteer experience for individuals or groups who wish to make an impact on the humane care and treatment for the animals in our facilities. This position supervises all volunteers, ensures the recruitment and orientation of new volunteers, maintains appropriate documentations, and promotes a friendly, productive volunteer experience. Previous volunteer management experience and working on the weekends are required.
Must be a High School graduate or equivalent. Knowledge of dog behavior with professional animal shelter/rescue experience preferred, but not required. Ideal candidate should have strong attention to detail; excellent customer service & communication skills; strong presentation skills & confidence in public speaking; planning & organization skills; proficient in Microsoft Office software (emphasis on Excel, Access, and Word); strong database knowledge & experience; the ability to multi-task in an environment of frequent interruptions; possess valid operating driver’s license and ability to drive a vehicle; the ability to adhere to policies and procedures; share and promote the philosophies of Mackenzie’s; and must love dogs!
