Job Title: Retail Manager
Job Overview:
We are doing an immersive experience based on the Harry Potter movie franchise. We are looking for someone to oversee the day-to-day operations of our event store, ensuring it runs smoothly and efficiently. This role requires strong leadership skills, business acumen, and the ability to deliver a high-quality customer service experience. You will manage all aspects of the store's operations from sales management to staff supervision and inventory control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Management: Oversee all store operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and standards. Implement strategies to increase productivity and sales performance.
- Staff Management and Development: Train, and manage store staff. Develop team members through motivation, counseling, and product knowledge education. Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Stock Receiving and Processing: Accepting deliveries, checking shipments for accuracy against orders, and tagging inventory with security devices and price tags before moving them to the sales floor or stockroom.
- Inventory control: Organizing and maintaining the stockroom to ensure that all items are stored correctly and safely. This includes rotating stock, managing stock levels, and performing regular inventory audits to reduce shrinkage and ensure that popular items are always in supply. Perform counts to verify inventory integrity following company policies. Classify and label inventory and report accurately stock lost or damaged.
- Product Returns and Exchanges: Handling returned merchandise by inspecting its condition, updating inventory records, and restocking items appropriately. Processing exchanges and refunds according to store policies.
- Sales control: Sales Control: Develop strategies to increase transaction values by setting clear sales goals with the team and actively encouraging staff to meet or exceed these targets through effective sales techniques and customer engagement.
- Sales and Customer Service: Drive sales by ensuring the store presents an inviting customer environment and by promoting effective sales techniques. Handle advanced customer service issues and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Store Layout: Suggest store layout changes to drive sales and implement them.
- Reporting: Regularly report on store performance, challenges, and strategic action plans to upper management.
- Documentation and Record Keeping: Keeping accurate records of shipments and inventory levels, logging incidents or discrepancies, and maintaining documentation for compliance and audit purposes.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring that all retail equipment (like hand-held scanners, pricing guns, POS devices and computers) is maintained and in good working order. Scheduling repairs and routine maintenance as needed.
- Safety and Security: Ensure the safety of employees and customers. Maintain store security to prevent theft and manage risks. Ensuring the back of house areas comply with health and safety regulations. This includes keeping fire exits clear, ensuring the stockroom is free from hazards, and maintaining clean and organized workspaces.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Retail Manager or similar managerial role.
- Strong understanding of the principles of sales, inventory management, and retail operations.
- Exceptional leadership and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
