Summary: Madix, Inc., a leader in the store fixture industry, is looking for a Cost Accountant at our Goodwater, Alabama facility. As a business partner to the operations, the Cost Accountant will provide support regarding financial data, standard costs, and bid information. This position will report to the Product Cost Manager with a dotted line to the Director of Cost Accounting.
Requirements and Responsibilities
· Bachelor's Degree
· 3 years’ experience in cost accounting in manufacturing.
· Analyze financial data to expose any information useful in improving operating efficiencies and changes in product design, raw material, manufacturing methods, or services provided, to determine effects on cost.
· Make estimates of new and proposed product costs and recommends cost efficiencies in new product layouts.
· Apply principles of cost accounting (standard cost system) statistics to provide management with detailed and accurate product cost information.
· Communicate problems and propose solutions to senior/peer management.
· Perform analysis of cost-related accounts and accounts reconciliation.
· Helping build the annual budget and project variances.
· Develop production cost center year end and next year operating labor and overhead rates for SAP cost system.
· Analyze and interpret manufacturing and overhead spending variances.
· Prepare P&L bid templates from downloaded SAP sales quotes.
· Design pricing mechanisms and formulas
· Strong SAP knowledge is a prerequisite preferably gained as part of a successful implementation or upgrade of a SAP system.
· SAP Profitability Analysis (COPA) is a plus.
· Industrial Engineering experience/Knowledge a plus.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
