The SWAT Specialist is responsible for translating business requirements into new features in the Maersk Warehouse and Distribution systems. You will ensure the operating procedures are aligned with any changes with an aim to ensure we meet customer and compliance requirements.

Performance Team and Damco Distribution, now part of the Maersk global organization under a combined Warehousing & Distribution division, offer third party logistics services to over 500 customers. Encompassing almost 15 million square feet of warehousing capacity throughout the country and a large transportation segment capturing a variety of services, we have key supply chain hubs in the Los Angeles and New Jersey/New York areas, and other facilities along the Western & Eastern coasts along with multiple locations in the Midwest. Delivering significant sales and profitability growth, we will drive the Inland Logistics and Services business for the combined US business units for Maersk.

Key responsibilities
- Drive warehouse and distribution community agenda
- Own cross-dock, transload, yard management, and transportation systems and business processes
- Define and own our E2E business processes
- Drives standardization and centralization of business and system processes
- Support the development of new (digital) products
- Ensure the operational platform remains up to date based on required improvements
- Assess business and customer needs to determine system requirements
- Collaborate with operations and IT to configure systems to meet business needs and requirements
- Prioritize, plan, test, and implement new system release and developments
- Support the business during go-live events for new business and/or systems
- Provide system training and user support to all facilities in North America
- Ensure processes are properly documented, stored and shared to business unit through the creation of SOPs/IOPs
- Responsible for process governance and adherence to defined standard operating processes
- Other duties as needed to support the business
- Position is full-time and on-site
We are looking for
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, not required
- Warehouse Distribution industry experience preferred, but not required
- Self-starter attitude
- Able to adapt quickly to changing tasks and priorities
- Minimum of 3 years Warehouse Management systems experience required; WebEC superuser preferred
- Minimum of 2 years Yard Management systems experience required; PINC and/or WhereNet superuser preferred
- Experience with Trinium Drayage management system a plus
- Experience with JIRA a plus
- Understanding of project management methodologies such as agile, a plus
- Strong conceptual abilities- able to translate complex issues into ideas and actions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with a team
- Ability to perform well with time-sensitive tasks
- Proficient in Microsoft applications; Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Must be able to travel up to 50%
