Role Summary
This position has a strategic and tactic component as responsibility will cover the planning and execution of all corporate events in North America, executive events globally, and the implementation of the Magna brand and messaging throughout these activities. A strong network of teams will support this individual for the delivery of world-class marketing activities in this region.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategize, plan and execute events in NA for Magna International, ensuring consistent implementation of the Magna Brand and messaging. Events vary from major international autoshows, tech events, customer tech shows, investor & media events, public conferences & symposiums, and employer branding related events.
- Lead Marketing team members who focus on event-related tasks and provide support and guidance to aid in their development.
- Work closely with Marketing leads and teams from all Magna groups and regions to ensure a full portfolio of capabilities is presented to the highest level at events in North America and there is consistent messaging and implementation of Magna brand.
- Become the SME (Subject Matter Expert) for event related programs such as CVENT, EPET and Teams Live etc. to ensure the successful execution of virtual and hybrid events globally.
- Work with a network of vendors to implement Magna’s event strategy and ensure consistent implementation of the Magna brand.
- Support various internal functional departments with Marketing related activities as required.
- Other duties as required.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree marketing, communications, economics, social sciences or the humanities.
- 5 to 8 years of experience in marketing related fields, with focus on Event organization.
- Experience in leading global cross-functional projects and teams from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Good leadership skills, with the ability to coach, motivate and engage team members from different cultures and backgrounds.
- Ability to interact with executive leadership, shop floor employees and external vendors with professionalism and purpose.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required. Travel is approx. 15%
- Good visual skills with understanding of traffic flow and presentation of assets at a booth
- Excellent project management skills including managing project budgets
- Proficient Computer knowledge and skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- High level of professional communication skills (written and verbal)
Additional Information
- Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer.
- Ability to conduct physical work for numerous days at a time, while present at events, setting up, staffing and tearing down exhibits and displays
