Title: Director of Performance Marketing - HYBRID
Location: Gilbert, AZ
Duration: Direct Hire/Perm
Salary: $130,000-$150,000K / 25% bonus
Schedule/Hours: M-F 8AM-5PM (3 days in office Tues/Wed/Thurs) - this role offers autonomy and flexibility

Summary of Role:
The Director of Performance Marketing will lead our client's efforts to drive customer acquisition and expand their B2C operations. This key leadership role involves crafting and implementing a robust growth marketing strategy, focusing extensively on paid media and performance channels. You will manage both in-house team members and their paid media agency.
Our client is seeking a growth-oriented marketer who combines creativity with analytical prowess and has a comprehensive understanding of the B2C/DTC landscape. Preference will be given to local candidates who can work in a hybrid in-office schedule.
MAIN Requirements:
- Extensive Paid Media Experience: Proven expertise in managing and optimizing paid media campaigns.
- Paid Search and Paid Social Expertise: Strong background in executing and analyzing paid search and social media advertising.
- Experience working with an agency and managing in-house marketing initiatives.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical and data-driven thinker who excels in performance marketing and problem-solving, rather than creative marketing.
- Budget Management: Experience managing substantial budgets of $10M in paid media and digital advertising.
- Leadership and Professionalism: Demonstrated professionalism in the workplace with solid leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Growth Strategy: Create and execute a data-driven marketing strategy to drive demand generation, customer acquisition, conversion, and retention for our DTC business.
- Manage Media Budgets: Optimize substantial media budgets across various channels, including paid search, social media advertising, display, and affiliate marketing.
- Oversee Paid Media Agency: Ensure seamless coordination and collaboration with brand and creative marketing teams and manage the paid media agency.
- Lead Performance Analysis: Conduct performance analysis and reporting, using data to make informed decisions and identify growth and optimization opportunities.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with product, brand, and creative teams to maintain a unified brand message and develop campaigns that resonate with our target audience.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Implement rigorous testing and experimentation (A/B testing, multivariate testing) across all channels to drive continuous improvement.
- Optimize the Funnel: Develop strategies to enhance the customer purchase journey and maximize lifetime value.
- Stay Ahead of Trends: Keep up-to-date with new technologies, platforms, and strategies, including AI, to drive growth in the DTC space.
- Build and Lead a Team: Mentor and lead a team of performance marketing professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and technical excellence.
- Establish External Relationships: Build strong relationships with external partners, vendors, and agencies to support growth initiatives.
- Present to Leadership: Provide regular updates to executive leadership, highlighting performance against KPIs and offering strategic insights.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA or equivalent is preferred.
- Extensive Experience: Over 8 years in growth/performance marketing, with a strong emphasis on direct-to-consumer strategies, ideally within an e-commerce setting.
- Proven Success: Demonstrated success in scaling customer acquisition and driving significant revenue growth.
- Paid Media Expertise: Deep experience in managing and optimizing large-scale paid media campaigns across various channels, including running in-house paid media teams and overseeing agencies.
- Analytical Proficiency: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate it into actionable growth strategies, collaborating effectively with analytics teams.
- Technical Skills: Proficient with marketing analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) and advertising platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Facebook Ads Manager).
- Leadership Excellence: Exceptional leadership qualities with a track record of managing high-performing teams.
