What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resource Business Partner position at Magnum Companies?
The primary function of this position is to develop partnerships and provide HR Support within assigned business unit(s) to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflect and help achieve the business objectives of Magnum.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Consults with all levels of management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
- Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
- Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
- Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
- Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
- Identifies training needs for business units.
- Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & WORK CHARACTERISTICS:
- Maintain superior knowledge of key human resource and compliance matters such as I-9’s, ADA, FMLA, USERRA, EEOC, amongst others
- Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and customer service skills
- Ability to effectively plan, organize, and use independent judgment to resolve issues
- Ability to advise, influence, and coach others

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field with at least 5 years of in Human Resources, or; an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential responsibilities and duties of the job as listed above.
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
- PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP preferred.
