Job Posting for Ink Specialist/Graphic Technician at Magnum Magnetics Corporation
Nature of Work:
The primary responsibilities of this position involve lab projects, color matching and quality control, while providing support in the Lab for R&D projects. Must have knowledge and ability to multitask between Lab/Quality Control functions, in addition to working in production to support demand. Occasional travel to customers/prospects is needed to support trials and troubleshoot application issues.
Examples of Work:
- Color matching of GCMI, Pantone, and custom colors.
- Provide technical support to new and existing customers.
- Provide formulation assistance in the Lab.
- Assist in creation of Safety Data Sheets, Chemical Assurance Forms and Compliance documentation.
- Assist Sales and Marketing departments in identifying product value differentiators.
- Travels to visit customers and prospects.
- Attends industry trade shows and selected market buyer/seller collaborative events as needed.
- Performs administrative functions for customers when necessary (VOC/HAP’s reporting, Chemical Assurance Forms, etc.).
- Performs other duties assigned by management.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Thorough understanding of rod coating and flexography processes and applications.
- Experience color matching and adjusting water-based and energy curable flexographic inks.
- Effective communication skills both orally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others, both internal and external.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
- Strong computer skills: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, mobile connectivity)
- Ability to work extended hours as needed.
- Ability to occasionally travel overnight.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in the inks and coatings industry or similar field preferred.
Must be familiar with color theory and proven ability to match color in a cost-effective way.
