Overall Description: Maine Beer Company is looking to grow the Human Resources department by adding a senior-level Human Resources (HR) Director who will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of Maine Beer Company and its HR department. This will be a highly motivated individual who fosters positive relationships and will ensure legal compliance and implementation of Maine Beer Company’s mission, values, and talent strategy. The Human Resources Director will report to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This is a full-time salaried position and will be based out of our office in Freeport, ME. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior leadership to help guide Maine Beer Company’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
- Work directly with the CEO to monitor, maintain, strategize and ensure a positive culture at Maine Beer Company.
- Lead, develop, coordinate and implement policies, processes, training, initiatives and surveys to support Maine Beer Company’s HR needs.
- Oversee daily workflow of HR department.
- Administer or oversee the administration of HR programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters including termination; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Ensure effective internal flow of communications.
- Work to develop, coach and train managers at Maine Beer Company to be better leaders and managers.
- Develop and execute diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives as well as staff wellness initiatives.
- Monitor and ensure Maine Beer Company’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Facilitate professional development, coaching, training, and certification activities for Maine Beer Company.
Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years’ experience in a human resource leadership role.- High level of discretion and empathy with the ability to remain neutral in various situations.
- Strong knowledge of employment law.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as public speaking and presentation skills.
- Familiarity with Paylocity preferred.
- Ability to use a computer and communicate via email or other outlets in a cordial way.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in or knowledge of the inner workings of the manufacturing and hospitality industries strongly preferred.
- Team player and willingness to work with others.
- SHRM-SCP or similar HR certification preferred.

Salary : $66,500 - $84,200
