Summary
Waldo County General Hospital serves the health needs of area residents through Waldo County General Hospital, Waldo County Medical Partners, five rural health centers, home health and hospice services, public health nursing Penobscot Shores and educational programs.
Waldo County General Hospital is a 25-bed, not-for-profit, critical access, medical and surgical hospital in Belfast, Maine, which has served the health needs of our local residents since 1901. The hospital features an inpatient hospice care suite; a fully-digital radiology and imaging department with in-house CT scanner, MRI unit, nuclear medicine scanner, digital mammography and digital ultrasound; a medical oncology and infusion therapy clinic; a sleep disorders Laboratory; advanced cardiology and pulmonary testing; the Voice and Swallowing Center of Maine; a mobile PET scanner; and a Dialysis Clinic.
Waldo County General Hospital is part of the Coastal Healthcare Alliance and the MaineHealth system.
We are presently seeking and Licensed electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate is someone who has experience in a healthcare setting, with well rounded trade experience including carpentry, HVAC, etc. The position will be based at Waldo County General Hospital but will include coverage for Pen Bay Medical Center as needed. The positions requires the willingness to be an approachable team player, and comfortable in a healthcare setting where our staff work closely with patients serving the local community.

Position Summary This position consists of 40 hours per week. Core hours will be day shifts and the position will include mandatory on call rotation.

A skilled maintenance person responsible for providing the proper operating service of all hospital equipment. This is accomplished by a variety of activities which focus on: preventive maintenance, installation, repair or expediting the repair of this equipment.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

License/Certifications: Electrician’s license required. Valid driver's license.

Experience: Must have experience and perform work in compliance with applicable regulations in building construction and renovation including, but not limited to, carpentry, painting, drywall and landscaping.

Must provide own hand tools and portable power tools necessary to perform job functions.

May be required to be licensed in a trade such as plumbing, electrical or boiler operation.

May require knowledge of heating, ventilating, air-conditioning and refrigeration.

May require knowledge in electronic equipment.
