What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Absence Specialist position at MaineHealth?
Position Summary
This position has MaineHealth system level responsibilities supporting care team members and leaders related to absence, disability and accommodations including associated workflows and documentation. This position will collaborate with various departments and external vendors to ensure appropriate outcomes. This position will advise and educate leadership, care team members and HR colleagues on all Absence programs within MaineHealth.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field is required.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of direct involvement in HR or Leave of Absence.
- Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficient computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: Superior analytical skills in interpretation of issues, problem solving, conducting financial analysis and use of computer office products and HRIS systems. Knowledge of State and Federal regulations in the areas of ADA, Leaves of Absence, Workers’ Compensation, STD and LTD programs.
