About the Role:

The role of Smart Home Technician is responsible for running fiber into the customer’s resident or business. The Smart Home Technician will also assist customers in finding the best location in the residence/business for the equipment to be placed and then setting up the equipment while providing customers with a walkthrough of how to use this equipment. They will also be there to assist with any questions or concerns that a customer may have and ensure the customer receives the best experience possible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install of fiber and equipment in customer’s home
  • Customer Education with the Calix App and Wi-Fi set up.
  • Going into Attics, Crawlspaces, Wall Fishing, and climbing ladders
  • Review home / business layout to determine job specifications and installation needs. Orders and/or obtains required equipment. Effects problem solving where appropriate.
  • Great communication / notating
  • Interfaces with customers to negotiate the placement of equipment, may assist with web access, and training the customer on how to use the new equipment.
  • Ensures the customer is satisfied with the work that has been done.
  • Responds to inquiries and provides follow-up to customers.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Key Qualifications:

  • HSD, or equivalent education, is required.
  • 1 years of Installation and/or Sales experience, required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • OSHA-10 certification, preferred.
  • Ability to lift, carry, set-up, climb and take down ladders.
  • Ability to work with basic power tools.
  • Ability to communicate naturally and pleasantly over the telephone.
  • Ability to professionally communicate extensively in person during in-home installation.
  • Requires alertness and attention to detail. Ability to work under stress.

Additional Notes:

  • Position does involve working both indoors and outdoors in changing weather conditions, as well as does involve work in confined/low ventilated areas such as attics and crawlspaces.
  • Travel can be required from county to county within the state of Indiana.
