What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fabrication position at Majic Productions?
Majic Productions is a sound, video, and lighting production company that specializes in creative and custom events. We are seeking an experienced and skilled creative carpenter to join the Majic family.
The candidate must be detail oriented and willing to fulfill specific design requests from clients. Though this is not your ordinary fabrication department you will have the ability to show off your creative mind as our clients request event specific decor and designs.
Carpenter Duties
- Performs skilled work in the construction, maintenance and repair of structures, equipment, and articles of wood; performs related work as required
- Ability to think and design creatively for a multitude of different projects
- Promotes a safe accident-free work environment
- Maintains proper levels of materials as required
- Maintains good housekeeping in areas of responsibility
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must be a motivated team player with a high sense of urgency and ownership
- Can prioritize work and manage themselves with minimal direction
- Ability to read detailed blueprints and produce formwork from them
- Ability to build from sketches and verbal instructions
- Ability to work from ladders and scaffolding
- Minimum 1 year metalsmithing
- Basic drafting knowledge
- Can proficiently and safely operate power saws, drills, screw guns, and forklifts
- Experience with scenic construction preferred
- Basic computer skills are a plus
