Roadside Service Technician

Job Summary

Scope: Provide aid to AAA members' disabled vehicles in designated member service areas using battery and light service equipment within established guidelines and procedures. Represent MAK Service as a professional battery service technician in all assignments.

Essential Functions:

• Perform battery services to members and/or designated customers. Initiate light services in accordance with established procedures.
• Perform emergency road service and minor emergency repairs for members and designated customers.
• Load good and unload old (recycled) batteries, verifies counts, performs basic visual inspection
• Use of electronic devices such as tablet and battery tester
• Complete daily reports
• Accept cash, checks and credit card transactions in accordance with established procedures for services rendered. Complete and issue invoices to record these transactions.
• Maintains clean work area and follows all safety procedures
• Tools, equipment and parts inventory kept organized and in order
• Communicate and present MAK Service in a professional, positive, quality-service oriented manner to all members, potential members, agency officials and the general public.
• Must be able to work on weekends and/or holidays

Responsibilities and Duties

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Extended periods of driving
• Frequent lifting of up to 80 pounds
• Use of specialized tools to perform the job
• Occasional exposure to external weather conditions
• Position is outdoors and in a service vehicle
• Bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs

Qualifications and Skills

Education, Training & Skills Required:

• Diploma or GED
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license
• Good reading and writing skills
• Excellent customer communication skills
