About this role:

The Senior Human Resources Communications Specialist will collaborate with HR staff and the broader organization in developing quality and creative content with the goal of building employee culture, connection, and compliance.

They will facilitate and improve integrated communication among employees, Human Resources staff, and organizational leadership, to ensure that employees are familiar with MSH's mission, culture, goals, policies, and expectations. They will also collaborate across the HR organization to foster an integrated global team through meetings, newsletters, and other modes of communication.

The Senior HR Communications Specialist will write and produce a wide range of materials and will coordinate with internal clients to facilitate events, global collaboration sessions, and trainings. They will also be responsible for overseeing HR content on MSH's intranet.

What are the main responsibilities?

Writing and Content Production for HR Communications, Policies, and Procedures - 60%

  • Create and edit impactful and engaging HR and general content for employees that effectively describes and promotes programs and initiatives in support of the organization's goals and culture, including blogs, regularly scheduled HR-led events, new initiatives, and policy updates.
  • Manage internal HR newsletter.
  • Work with HR business process owners to effectively write, edit, and disseminate new policies, updates to existing policies, and SOPs. Brainstorm any necessary training related policy compliance.
  • Ensure organization-wide communication messaging and materials are high quality, accurate, appropriate for the audience and integrated with the Chief People and Culture Officer's (CPCO) priorities and themes.
  • Liaise between Communications and HR to create and maintain content for employee communication channels and works cross functionally to explore/recommend new channels or technologies where possible.
  • Identify communication opportunities to share within HR team and broader organization to foster team and organization-wide culture.
  • Work with specialized vendors (i.e., graphic designers, video editors, etc.) to support the production of content as needed (i.e., videos, etc.).

HR Knowledge Management Support - 20%

  • Act as point person for HR content on MSH intranet.
  • Partner with business process owners to ensure content is up-to-date, engaging, and informative.

Event and Training Support - 20%

  • In collaboration with CPCO and their team, lead planning and execution of HR-sponsored events geared toward engaging employees, disseminating information, and trainings.
  • Support preparation of event materials, speaker documents, run of show, promotional communications, and follow-up materials and actions.
  • Manage event platforms (Zoom, Teams, etc.), including the use of features like simultaneous interpretation, breakout rooms, audience polls, and chat.

Specific requirements for this role are:

Education and Experience:

Required: Bachelor's degree required.

Required: At least four years of relevant experience required.

Experience in corporate communications required. Experience in policy writing desired.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong writing and editing skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information to create compelling stories and action communications.
  • Experience producing various types of online and print material required.
  • Advanced knowledge/experience using event platforms including Zoom, and Teams required.
  • Experience in Human Resources high desired.
  • Experience with event planning and management is a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of global development communications preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of digital and multimedia storytelling is desirable.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications.
  • French communication skills are a plus.

  • Demonstrated competency for project management and coordination of international teams.


The expected salary range for this position is: $62,000.00 - $80,000.00 annually (U.S. locations only).
