Essential Functions:
- Identify, develop and maintain linkages with employers for potential employment opportunities for students that meet the minimum contract wage goal, provide medical benefits and provide advancement opportunities.
- Identify, develop and maintain linkages with schools and other training programs that meet the PRH placement definition and will result in greater employment opportunities for students.
- Develop and maintain linkages with Job Corps center career and technical training instructors and national training contractors.
- Assist in the development and implementation of the contract’s outreach & education plan.
- Review and audit all assigned areas regularly for contractual compliance and effectiveness of delivery of services to students. Prepare related reports.
- Represent the OA/CTS project in the chamber of commerce, trade associations, career links, economic development agencies and other government labor market agencies to obtain labor market information; network with employers and community leaders; and, educate the community about job corps.
- Gather feedback from employers regarding services provided by job corps and student work performance.
- Collaborate with CTS specialists to develop a job development strategy.
- Compile and distribute employment opportunity information to career transition service specialist on a regular basis.
- Maintain a current job posting board or other means for students to find employment.
- Maintain a database of employers that includes company contact, benefits, opportunities, requirements, students employed and follow-up contact.
- Perform back-up CTS specialist responsibilities as needed.
Education and Experience Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent and two years related experience required, one of which should be working in sales, marketing, public relations, or job development. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency also required. Unless waived by management, valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
