What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Specialist - HSD position at Manitowoc County?
Working with our Human Services Department, this position reviews documentation generated by staff and contracted providers to ensure that documentation matches invoices and hours authorized and advises staff and providers if documentation needs to be created or supplemented.
This position works within various HSD program guidelines and:
- Determines what hours are billable for medical assistance.
- Monitors progress notes from providers to assure compliance with standards.
- Assists providers with questions on required reporting and compliance with SPC Codes.
- Monitors quality assurance standards established by the State and advises of necessary changes. Assists in the coordination of required training and documents training provided. Assists providers in meeting incident reporting standards and tracks incident reporting.
- Assists in the recruitment, screening and registration of providers. This includes but is not limited to: completing the provider registry process, setting up providers in system and relaying information about new providers to the team.
- Assists in the recruitment and training of respite care providers.
A high school diploma and whatever additional education and work experience provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
