Mansfield ISD Mansfield Independent School District is a premiere school district located in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The district encompasses more than 94 square miles serving students in the city of Mansfield and sections of Arlington, Grand Prairie, Burleson, Fort Worth, Venus, Alvarado and Kennedale.
Mansfield ISD has 49 schools serving more than 35,000 students - one pre-kindergarten academy, 24 elementary schools (grades K-4), seven intermediate schools (grades 5-6), seven middle schools (grades 7-8), two standalone STEM academies, five traditional high schools, one career and technology academy, one alternative education center and one early college high school

We are looking for a Device Repair Technician to join our team and provide technical assistance to our customers. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues, setting up new computers, and providing general technical support. The successful candidate will also be responsible for providing customer service, maintaining records of customer interactions, and ensuring that all customer inquiries are addressed in a timely manner.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Broad knowledge of computer hardware and software applications
- Knowledge of various operating systems (Windows, macOS, iOS, & Chrome OS)
- Knowledge of district software applications
- Ability to detect and resolve technical or technology-related problems
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate effectively Experience: Two years of work experience in a technical support or repair role preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops (including Chromebooks), tablets, and peripherals used in the school district
- Install, configure, and upgrade operating systems, software applications, and drivers on various computer platforms, including Chromebooks
- Perform hardware repairs and replacements, including components such as hard drives, memory modules, power supplies, and motherboards, displays, integrated keyboards, etc., for Chromebooks and other devices
- Install and configure licensed district software
- Process and prioritize work orders, projects, and other duties in a timely fashion
- Maintain records for work orders, inventory, and training towards district goals
- Uphold constant professionalism within all dialogue, correspondence, appearance, behavior, and work ethic
- Build strong rapport with end-users by demonstrating high quality customer service while encouraging understanding and use of good computing practices
- Comply with federal, state, and district policies, as well as department safety and security procedures concerning technology and its use
- Employees must uphold a commitment to the district's mission, vision, values, and strategic plan.
- Other duties as assigned Skills and Expertise:
- Ability to install, operate, and maintain computers and peripherals Familiarity with enterprise network environment, Active Directory, and operations systems including Windows, macOS, iOS, and ChromeOS
- Fundamental troubleshooting of computer operations, connectivity, and configuration
- Comprehension of technical terms, hardware manuals, and technology procedures
- Ability to multi- task, self-motivate, and work independently as well as part of a team
- Must possess robust verbal and written skills for communication with technical and non- technical individuals
- Must give quality customer service in all interactions, whether directly or indirectly related to the achievement of your duties
- Proven experience as a PC Repair Technician or a similar role, preferably within an educational environment
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems (including Chrome OS, Windows, macOS, etc.), and software applications commonly used in educational settings
- Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops (including Chromebooks), and peripherals
- Familiarity with Chrome OS and Chromebook management tools, such as Google Admin Console and Google Workspace for Education
- Familiarity with network technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and basic network troubleshooting
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks effectively
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced educational environment

Pay: $25.42 - $34.37 per hour
