Mari Vineyards is looking to fill immediate openings for full time Kitchen Staff. Our Kitchen is located at our Tasting Room on Old Mission Peninsula, serving small plates and shareables along with our estate wine. Ideal candidates will be organized, self-motivated, and disciplined individuals who are focused on the customer’s experience and the culinary excellence. Our seasonal menu offers plenty of opportunity to learn on the job. This position will be full time through the fall with the possibility of remaining on year-round - part time through the winter.
Duties
- Prepare and plate food for guests to order and for reserved experiences
- Prep food for other shifts
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and expected presentation of the kitchen, including prep areas and dishwashing stations
- Assist the Kitchen Manager in maintaining proper inventory for food operations
- Assist with prep, plating, and dishwashing for event catering as needed
- Maintain proper storage of all items in the kitchen
- Know Mari food products and services proficiently
- Operate dish machines
- Keep Tasting Room and serving areas supplied with clean glassware
- Assist with other duties as assigned by management
- MUST be able to work weekends and some holidays
Skills
- Previous kitchen experience welcomed but not required
- A passion for and desire to increase knowledge about food & wine
- Works well in a group/team environment and can be supportive of other team members at all times
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- A good sense of time and the ability to prioritize while balancing multiple tasks
- Ability to cope with a busy and quickly changing work environment
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Ability to spend most of the day on your feet (8 hours)
