Position Summary:
he Dialysis RN provides direct patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Provides initiation and discontinuation of the prescribed renal replacement therapy. Documents, evaluates, and implements dialysis orders. Analyzes patient assessments, dialysis orders, laboratory results and discusses issues with the nephrologist. Communicates emergencies, patient life-threatening complications and related incidents to supervisor, hospital staff and the patient’s physician.
Minimum Education
Successful completion of the Nursing Diploma Program or an Associates Degree in Nursing from an accredited school is required.
Minimum Work Experience
Minimum of 1 year of RN experience in a health care setting is required.
Minimum of 6 months of acute dialysis experience required.
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Certifications/License
Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina or Multistate license.
Basic Life Support (BLS) is required through American Heart Association (AHA) within 30 days of hire
