Primary Objective
Responsible for demonstrating a love of food and passion for people that includes incredible Customer Service and performance excellence through department knowledge and technical expertise. As a Cake Decorator team member, promotes and delivers a shopping experience focused on providing customers the level of service to which we have publicly committed by providing efficient service through hands-on knowledge of cake decorating techniques. The Cake Decorator adheres to organizational procedures, policies and systems including food quality standards and food safety and sanitation guidelines. The Cake Decorator is focused on driving sales through suggestive selling, sampling, recipe ideas and promoting sales events.

2. Process Focus – Delivers standard of disciplined, high quality, high paced daily working and shopping conditions.
Basic product handling skills
Working knowledge of all cake decorating equipment
Ices and decorates cakes to ensure consistent quality and accuracy
Demonstrates high level of operational execution
Ensures proper product preparation, packaging, presentation, rotation, replenishment
Fast paced and exhibits sense of urgency
Working knowledge of Bakery /Deli legal, safety, and sanitation SOP’s
Ensures in-stock position of available product
Maintains high cleanliness standards – clean as you go, inclusive of washing, cleaning, sweeping, mopping
Consistent execution of all Bakery/Deli and Cake Decorating SOP’s
3. Performance Focus – Assists financial results in Sales and Supplies and Shrink Management.
Accomplished SELLING skills results in additional Sales
Communicates code dating issues
Communicates Shrink opportunities
Suggestive SELLS and Samples short-coded product
Monitors product quality to reduce Shrink
Utilizes appropriate supplies to reduce costs
4. Planning Focus
Plans SELLING product for each scheduled shift
Identifies department opportunities during scheduled shift and responds accordingly
Plans work duties appropriately during scheduled shift to accomplish all assigned tasks
Functional Requirements:
Interpersonal Skills – demonstrated success in the areas of energy, initiative, judgment/decision making, social skills/verbal interaction memorization, reading, writing, math, effective communications, problem solving
Product Skills – general knowledge of all product in Bakery/Deli department
Process Skills – demonstrated understanding of all Bakery/Deli functions
Analytical Skills – basic understanding of math
Physical Skills – Frequent ability to lift/carry 5 to 40 lbs., push/pull 100 - 200 lbs., walking on uneven ground, turning, standing, reaching, stooping/bending, squatting. Use of equipment such as spatula, mixer, lazy Susan, decorating tubes, air brush, copy machine, cake projector, labeler, cart racks, scraper, scales, knives, cleaning utensils, glazer, air brush, spatula, chemical resistant gloves, splash goggles, cleaning equipment, intercom, telephone.
Physical Skills – Occasional: Lifting/carrying more than 40 lbs., equipment operation (pallet jack).
Pushing/pulling 100 to 500 lbs., climbing ladders, stooping, crawling.
Education or Experience – Minimum High school education or currently enrolled
Environmental – working with hot equipment, working with hot grease, exposed to fatty acids and smoke, working close to heated surfaces.
