Overnight Baker

Responsible for demonstrating a love of food and passion for people that includes incredible Customer Service and performance excellence through department knowledge and technical expertise. As a Bakery team member, the Baker promotes and delivers a shopping experience focused on providing customers the level of service to which we have publicly committed by providing efficient service through hands-on knowledge of Bakery products.

The Baker adheres to organizational procedures, policies and systems including food quality standards and food safety and sanitation guidelines. The Baker is focused on driving sales through suggestive selling, sampling, recipe ideas and promoting sales events.

2. Process Focus – Delivers standard of disciplined, high quality, high paced daily working and shopping conditions.

 Basic product handling skills

 Performs baking procedures to include mixing, prepping, proofing, baking, and frying

 Ensures proper product preparation, packaging, presentation, rotation, replenishment

 Ensures in-stock position of available product

 Maintains high cleanliness standards – clean as

you go, inclusive of washing, cleaning, sweeping, mopping

 Working knowledge of all Bakery equipment

 Demonstrates high level of operational execution

 Fast paced and exhibits sense of urgency

 Working knowledge of Bakery/Deli legal, safety, and sanitation SOP’s

 Consistent execution of all Bakery/Deli SOP’s

3. Performance Focus – Assists financial results in Sales and Supplies and Shrink Management.

 Monitors product quality to reduce Shrink

4. Planning Focus –

 Plans SELLING product for each scheduled shift

 Plans work duties appropriately during scheduled shift to accomplish all assigned tasks

Functional Requirements:

 Product Skills – general knowledge of all product in Bakery department

 Process Skills – demonstrated understanding of all Bakery functions

 Physical Skills – Frequent ability to lift/carry 15 to 100 lbs., push/pull 220 - 550 lbs., walking on uneven ground,

turning, standing, reaching, stooping/bending. Use of equipment such as mixer, sheeter, molder, divider, rounder, cookie cutting machine, donut cutter, scraper, scales, knives, oven, timer, racks, shrink wrapper, decorating tube, bread slicer, labeler, cleaning utensils, glazer, air brush, spatula, chemical resistant gloves, splash goggles, intercom, telephone.

 Physical Skills – Occasional: Lifting/carrying 40 - 100 lbs., equipment operation (pallet jack). Pushing/pulling up to 2500 lbs., climbing ladders, stooping, crawling.

 Education or Experience – Minimum High school education or currently enrolled

 Environmental – working with hot equipment, working with hot grease, exposed to fatty acids and smoke, working close to heated surfaces.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.25 - $17.75 per hour

Expected hours: 12 – 40 per week
