As the Data Entry Clerk in the Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) Clinic, you will enter reportable data and case management/testing into the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) STD database. You will manage disease data, follow-up with symptomatic individuals, produce written reports, and conduct other activities required to identify and control the spread of STDs.

We Require
Six months of experience performing data entry
High school diploma or GED
We Also Value
Two years of experience performing data entry in a medical care environment requiring knowledge of sexually transmitted diseases
Experience using Microsoft Access, Excel, and Word
Experience using Prism Case Management System
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Job Contributions
Enter STD morbidity data from various source materials into the ADHS PRISM Case Management System
Enter data into the STD Field Services Syphilis Interview and Field Record databases
Collect and disseminate health data and patient treatment data to the managers of the STD Program to monitor and evaluate emerging patterns and trends of STDs in Maricopa County
Ensure reporting of demographic and case information is complete
Review for adequate treatment on positive test results, initiate Health Department follow-up when treatment is not adequate
Route Communicable Disease Report for data entry into the ADHS STD Reporting database
Sort, alphabetize, and file closed field records
Maintain highly confidential documents alphabetically or numerically for records management and quality assurance purposes
Working Conditions
Within one month of hire, all employees are required to provide evidence of immunity or receive immunizations for vaccine-preventable illnesses for any position within the Maricopa County Department of Public Health; required immunizations include MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), Tdap (whooping cough and diphtheria), Varicella (chickenpox), and annual Influenza; some positions require a Hepatitis B vaccine and/or a Tuberculosis test
Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver’s license by the time of hire
Long hours of performing data entry involving sexually transmitted diseases
Must be able to participate in emergency response training as scheduled and be available to respond as directed in the event of a public health emergency
