Job Purpose:
The Galeon Parts and Service Assistant is an integral part of the growth strategy for Galeon in the Americas. This position will be responsible for providing World Class Customer Service and Product Support for all Galeon Customers, MarineMax Stores, and Sub Dealers with the goal of solidifying Galeon Yachts as a leading brand in the Americas for generations to come. The growth of Galeon to a top 3 brand in 5 short years requires that our valuable customers, stores, and dealers are supported at an extremely high level.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Enthusiastically embrace MarineMax values
- Acquire complete product knowledge of all Galeon models
- Study Owner’s Manuals for best practices and maintenance requirements
- Parts and service
- Perform stocking, issuing, receiving and inventory control functions including cycle counts
- Sort and place materials and parts on racks, shelves and or in bins
- Use Galeon’s online parts system to Order parts and Communicate to the team Status of orders
- Work with Galeon to improve parts system reporting and efficiency
- Work with Galeon Brand team to help establish parts department in Dania
- Ensure Parts Information is distributed and chronicled to Stores and Dealers in a timely manner
- Work with Galeon Service Manager to ensure Jostle files are up to date with information, communicate to team where to find parts and service information
- Maintain FANS Scores of 80 or higher by actively communicating with customers via customer care calls and providing feedback on where we can improve our service
- Place parts numbers as appropriate on merchandise
- Enter parts inventory information through use of IDS
- Complete order form and place orders with vendors and manufacturers as directed by Galeon Service Manager
- Read production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order or requisition to determine items to be moved or distributed
- Maintain good working relationships with factory and vendors as they relate to product and quality control
- Place orders for special order parts as required
- Inform technicians and customers or arrival of special-order parts
- Carefully check invoices against work orders
- Keep parts catalogs up to date
- Organization of shipping including large crates to freight forwarders
- Comply with hazardous goods shipment paperwork using vendors
- Support Galeon brand with offsite work, offloads from the port and boat shows
- Possible overnight stays will be required
- Participate in Parts Meeting Presentation
- Maintain inventory and review turnover with Galeon Brand Manager and Service Manager
- General
- Maintain a professional and supportive relationship with all clients, fellow team members, vendors, and the Galeon factory
- Always maintain FANS Scores of 80 or greater
- Provide weekly reporting to Galeon Service Manager on areas of concern, escalating client situations, product improvements, victories and losses
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
The Galeon Parts and Service Assistant must have a willingness to learn and be eager to expand their horizons and grown in an ever-changing marketplace that is filled with new technologies
Qualifications include:
- College Degree or related boat/yacht work experience
- Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office Product Suite
- Proficient grammar and communication skills
- Ability to Travel occasionally
- Understanding of all Yacht Systems and Installations
- Has familiarity with ABYC, ISO, and USCG standards
- Exhibits exceptional organization skills
- Possesses strong interpersonal skills
- Spanish speaking a plus to support Sub Dealers’ technical teams in Latin America
- Drivers license to use company vehicles and rentals
Working Conditions:
The Galeon Parts and Service Assistant may be required to work occasional evenings and weekends. Work environment can range from an office to present climactic conditions aboard yachts and may require lifting 25 pounds to 60 pounds on occasion.
