Accounting Associate ( Hybrid)

1248 is actively seeking positive, energetic candidates for a full-time Accounting Associate (hybrid) position in our Kansas City, MO office located on the Plaza. We are a unique financial team who works closely with internal and external team members on a daily basis. Given our small office size of 20 associates, our ideal candidate has a passion for accounting work as well as building relationships with colleagues. To be successful in this role, a candidate will have outstanding interpersonal skills, a strong attention to detail, an analytical mindset, and the ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP financial statements for a variety of affiliated companies.
• Record transactions for proper accounting, tax, and other financial implications, including acquisitions, dispositions, financial arrangements, entity creation, or restructuring
• Prepare work papers, schedules, and reconciliations in support of financial statements, audits and tax return preparation
• Prepare budgets and analysis of financial performance
• Provide analysis of financials for use in company decision making
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with the broader 1248 team
• Complete special projects as needed

Qualifications

• 1-2 years cumulative work experience preferred
• Required Degree: Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance OR Bachelor’s degree in any field, Accounting or Finance preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
