What are the responsibilities and job description for the Spirits Business Analyst position at Mark Anthony Brands Inc.?
The Spirits Analyst reports to the MABI Senior Manager of Analytics and will support the entire organization in a large-scale Data and Analytics (D&A) transformation. The role will have exposure to cross-functional teams including IT, Marketing, Category Insights, C level Executives and will support the business using superior technical skills and business acumen to drive D&A enhancements for the various teams.
Responsibilities:
- Analyzes product shipment, inventory, and depletion data to assess performance opportunities across distributors, retailers and sales teams.
- Extract, organize, and analyze syndicated data (IRI, Nielsen, and other resources) to under and communicate category and consumer opportunities to key stakeholders.
- Proactively track distribution, velocity and reorders of spirits innovation items and translate risks and opportunities to other sides of the business such as demand planning and logistics.
- Review, analyze, and adjust spirits portfolio forecasts to better-inform the business on potential future performance.
- Assist Senior Manager of Analytics, VP Sales, and Directors in gathering market-level intelligence, combining with analytics, and building presentations for Mark Anthony Brands Leadership.
- Collaborate with Finance to translate spirits portfolio performance to financial impact.
- Show technical expertise to transform reporting environment from Excel-based to automated using a variety of BI tools.
- Represent the business to translate reporting and analytics needs to our IT partners in support of Data and Analytics transformation efforts.
- Perform testing and data reconciliations and provide feedback to IT to ensure successful Go Live of crucial D&A projects.
- Act as the main point of contact with IT to manage integrity of all Spirits data.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business, Finance, Economics, Operations, or other quantitative fields.
- 5 years of relevant analytical experience in finance or business analyst role ideally with a consumer-packaged-goods company or with a consulting firm.
- Experience at large spirits supplier or distributor highly preferred.
- Highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with visualization and reporting tools required – Cognos, Power BI, and Tableau preferred.
- SQL experience preferred but not required.
- IRI and Nielsen experience highly preferred.
- Intellectual curiosity – desire to continually improve business acumen to provide value and thought leadership to the Mark Anthony Organization.
- Ability to prioritize competing projects and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment and not afraid to ask questions to find the best path forward.
