What are the responsibilities and job description for the Executive Chef position at Market?
Market is looking for an Executive Chef.
We are a busy modern Italian restaurant located in the heart of Venice. The food is a fresh twist on Italian cuisine, designed to be shared family-style.
Outside of the obvious cooking skills needed as an Exec Chef; great palette, knife skills, safety consciousness, butchering of whole animals and fresh pasta making, we are looking for a candidate with:
- Culinary excellence; creating new and exciting dishes.
- Experienced with menu costing and recipe building.
- Comfortable expediting 300 covers
- Thorough financial acumen, including P&L analysis.
- Self-motivated with a great attitude and a natural ability to lead.
- Committed to maintaining a positive and collaborative kitchen culture.
- Is level headed and composed.
- Experience with overseeing and vetting weekly inventory.
- Comfortable with all types of ordering.
- Experienced in scheduling and managing labor
- Great time management.
- Comfortable to execute disciplinary actions.
- With minimum 2 years experience as an Exec Chef or CDC in a similar environment.
Bonus:
- Speaks Spanish.
Compensation Package:
- 5 days/week schedule. Tuesday-Saturday.
- 50% contribution towards medical.
- 2 weeks PTO.
- $80-$100k / year depending on the candidate.
- Parking spot.
