Job Description
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
- Be able to work with, motivate, and mentor other members of the kitchen staff.
- Support the Executive and First Sous Chef in overall kitchen management.
- Work on the line at lunch and/or dinner and lead a team in cooking and preparing meals, including monitoring food quality and overseeing techniques and presentation.
- Assist in managing inventory and ensuring supplies are fresh and of high quality.
- Assist with product ordering.
- Assist with menu design and help create daily and nightly menu specials.
- Assist with planning and execution of all club functions (i.e. wedding dinners, golf/tennis events).
- Supervise the auxiliary pool kitchen 2 days/week (approx. Memorial Day through Labor Day).
- Assist with any recurring club events (i.e. Family Nights at the Pool)
- Assist with training of new staff.
- Participate in daily lineups with both front-of-house and back-of-house staff.
- Go out of the way at all times to exceed the expectations of club members.
- Be willing and able to adjust "on the fly" and take on add'l tasks as directed by the Executive Chef.
This position is Full-time summer seasonal with potential for Full-time year round. If year round, benefits would include health/dental insurance, 401K, and more.
Qualifications
Culinary degree and/or extensive prior experience with references required.
