Job Title: Technician Position Type: Staff, 12-Month Employee
Supervises: NA Reports To: Director of Technology

Qualifications
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated knowledge with experience integrating technology into a public school instructional program
- Demonstrated knowledge of the functions of applications, data systems, core technology infrastructure components, and classroom technologies in a public-school setting
Essential Responsibilities
Repair and Maintenance:
- Provide first-level repair and maintenance of computer equipment and related systems
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues to ensure optimal performance
- Conduct regular maintenance tasks to prevent system failures and ensure equipment reliability
Installation and Configuration:
- Install new computer equipment and software in designated areas as requested by the technology department
- Ensure proper setup and configuration of hardware, operating system software, and application software
- Stay updated on the latest PC hardware, operating systems, and peripherals to maintain technical knowledge and proficiency
User Support and Training:
- Instruct and assist users in the proper use and operation of computer equipment and software
- Provide timely and effective technical support to address user queries and issues
- Assist in conducting training sessions for district personnel to enhance their technology skills and knowledge
Documentation and Knowledge Management:
- Support the maintenance of technology department documentation, including equipment inventory, repair logs, and troubleshooting guides
- Contribute to the development and updating of knowledge resources for IT support staff and end users
- Participate in knowledge-sharing activities within the district technology teams
System Support and Upgrades:
- Assist in supporting and maintaining the school phone system, Point of Sale food service system, student information system, and other implemented systems
- Collaborate in the implementation of necessary software application upgrades and patches to enhance system performance and security
Resource Coordination:
- Assist in coordinating resources for the repair and maintenance of computer peripherals, such as printers, scanners, and projectors
- Collaborate with vendors and service providers to ensure timely resolution of hardware and software issues
Compliance and Security:
- Adhere to district policies and best practices regarding data privacy and security
- Support the implementation of security measures, including antivirus software, firewalls, and access controls
- Maintain confidentiality regarding all District-related issues
Additional Responsibilities:
- Undertake other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology to contribute to the smooth operation of the technology department and meet the evolving needs of the organization
- Assist in developing and monitoring department schedules and deadlines for projects and report
- Manage tasks and projects
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, hear, taste, and smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequent repetitive activities including hands, arms, and legs for clerical related work. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move technology equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works inside but could occasionally be outside and is subject to noises associated with an educational environment both indoors and outdoors that is deemed moderate. The employee works in an educational setting.
