Angleton - Electrical Foreman / Heat Tracing

The purpose of this position is to successfully manage and execute commercial electrical projects (heat tracing). The individual will lead, train and support a team to complete projects safely and on schedule.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the safety of those on his/her crew and will conduct all operations according to all applicable company and government safety regulations.
• Develop and conduct toolbox safety meetings, communicating safety concerns, work scope and schedules.
• Responsible for timely completion of work assignments within the estimated costs while meeting customer expectations.
• Plan, schedule and supervise the work of electricians and helpers engaged in the construction, maintenance and repair of electrical systems.
• Plan wiring and installation of secondary power distribution and heat tracing according to blueprints, schematic drawings and sketches
• Conduct periodic inspections using test equipment, such as voltmeter and ohmmeter and provide on-site supervision of hazardous or unusual work.
• Estimate time and materials cost for the project and track cost and job records.
• Performs business management duties such as maintaining records and files, preparing reports, ordering materials and tools, maintaining accurate job
• Supervises work crews to best utilize manpower and materials, exercises employee discipline, as needed.
• Performs other related tasks as required and assigned.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Electrician or Master Electrician License (preferred)
• Valid Driver’s License (preferred)
• Construction: 2 years (preferred)
• Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office Software
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, wiring schematics, and electrical instructions
• Ability to travel and work varying shifts as needed to include weekends and overtime

Working Conditions

• Work is primarily conducted in a semi-private office/cubicle setting but requires occasional travel to client sites.
• Field duties require outdoor work in a plant atmosphere.
• Interaction with other crew employees, as well as supervisors and client personnel.
• Working in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels.
• Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
• May be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes.
• May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis.
