What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sanitation position at MARS?
What are we looking for?
The role functions as a member of a team that is directly responsible for the sanitary condition of the site. This role will complete daily specified tasks in assigned areas in a safe and efficient manner as well as perform any sanitation related duties as required by the Master Sanitation Schedule. Sanitation associates must ensure efficiency, operational conformance, product quality and continuous improvement. This job requires strong communication, interpersonal, and team building skills to support site objectives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Forklift and JLG Lift Certified (Certification is a requirement of the role but can be completed after being awarded the position)
- Able to stand and walk for extended time periods, climb stairs and ladders, work at elevated locations, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to adapt to temperature and environmental extremes from hot to cold, dust, dirt and chemicals
- Good communication skills
- Working knowledge of Safety, Quality and Material Management Systems and procedures
- Able to adapt to sudden sanitation needs (spills, micro events, unplanned downtime, etc…)
- Confined Space Entry and Working at Heights certified (Certification is a requirement of the role but can be completed after being awarded the position)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Problem solving skills
- Experience with Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) of equipment
- Knowledge of Food Manufacturing Sanitation
What will be your key responsibilities?
- To maintain safety standards by using Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) and confined space entry procedures when working in primary area of the factory.
- Safely use chemicals for cleaning and sanitation
- Operation of fork truck, JLG lift and material movement equipment.
- General sanitation and cleaning and maintaining proper GMPs for the site.
- Work with Sanitation Manager to develop and improve Master Sanitation Program.
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment that promotes associate safety and product integrity.
- Visually inspect areas and equipment while performing sanitation duties
- Maintain documentation of sanitation duties including the Master Sanitation Schedule and/or other records pertaining to task completion
- Other Duties as assigned
