Mercer is seeking candidates for the following position based in the New York City office. This role is an onsite position.

UI/UX Product Design Manager

We will count on you to:
  • Lead and mentor a team of talented product designers, fostering a collaborative, innovative, and high-performing team environment across the enterprise.
  • Own the entire UI/UX design process, from user research and information architecture to prototyping, testing, and iteration.
  • Partner closely with product managers, marketing and sales, and other key stakeholders to define product roadmaps, understand user needs, and translate business objectives into compelling design solutions from a COE POV.
  • Present design concepts and solutions to stakeholders with confidence and clarity, effectively communicating the value and impact of you and your team's workflow.
  • Implement and manage multiple project timelines and resources simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of design projects while prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and adhering to budgets without compromising quality. Knowledge of project management tools such as Jira, Workfront, etc.
  • Develop, implement, and champion user-centered UI/UX design principles and best practices to ensure consistency and brand alignment across all product touchpoints.
  • Gather and interpret complex user feedback and analytics through various methods (i.e., surveys, interviews, usability testing, etc.), translating them into actionable design improvements as well as inform design decisions.
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging UI/UX design trends, techniques, and technologies, integrating cutting-edge innovations into our design practices in addition to seeking opportunities to elevate the user experience.
  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision making by analyzing user data and A/B testing results to refine and optimize designs.


What you need to have:
  • 10 years of proven experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role, with a portfolio demonstrating depth in product and user-centered design principles and methodologies (i.e., design thinking, agile development) and user-centric solutions.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with a track record of leading successful design teams.
  • Proficient in design software (e.g., Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma) and wireframe tools (e.g., Wireframe.cc, InVision, etc.).
  • Excellent project management skills, with experience in agile methodologies and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in addition to planning, prioritization, delegation, and track project progress.

  • Bonus points for experience with project management tools (i.e., Jira, Workfront, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of frontend development and the ability to communicate effectively with engineering teams.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering highly polished design solutions.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and persuade key stakeholders.
  • Passion for design and deep understanding of how good design impacts business outcomes.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in design, Computer Science, or relevant field; additional certification in leadership or project management is a plus.

Marsh McLennan is committed to hybrid work, which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the collaboration, connections and professional development benefits of working together in the office. All Marsh McLennan colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one "anchor day" per week on which their full team will be together in person.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $91,800 to $183,600.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
