What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant, Accounting Services position at MARSHALL R KOPELMAN CPA?
We are a small CPA firm seeking a highly organized, computer savvy Assistant with experience or interest in the Accounting space. This person will work directly with our owner to prepare various financial documentation, spreadsheets, statements, and reports. Our clients span retail, wholesale, real estate, private clients, and more!
This role is excellent for someone with solid Microsoft Excel skills looking to grow their knowledge in the Accounting field with hands-on mentorship. We are open to a variety of skill levels including new graduates to experienced candidates.
Responsibilities include:
· Performing bank reconciliations
· Analysis of transactions
· Preparation of monthly journal entries
· Complete general ledger operations
· Utilize proprietary tax program
· Analysis of accounts as required
· Assist with year-end closings
· Prepare financial statements
· Payroll administration
· Assist with government audits
· Prepare tax returns & spreadsheets
· Administrative duties
Minimum Requirements:
· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is critical, including utilizing pivot tables, formulas, VLOOKUP, etc.
· Experience with Sage Accounting Software for general ledger a plus
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is a plus
· Strong attention to detail
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills
· Willingness to learn
· Ability to work on site in-person, full time
· Located within a commutable distance to Garden City, NY
