Martin-Baker America's Financial Controller oversees all aspects of financial accounting and reporting for Martin-Baker America. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and compliance of Martin-Baker American and encompasses a wide range of financial management responsibilities, requiring strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.


Here's a summary of the key responsibilities outlined:


  1. Financial Accounting Closing Process: Lead the monthly and yearly financial accounting closing process to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  2. Financial Statement Preparation: Ensure timely and accurate completion of financial statements for corporate and site reporting and analysis.
  3. Reporting Enhancement: Work on enhancing existing reporting capabilities and reducing the time required to prepare financial reports.
  4. GAAP Compliance: Maintain integrity of accounting records and reports in accordance with GAAP, ensuring quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
  5. General Accounting Management: Manage day-to-day activities in various accounting areas such as general accounting, inter-company accounting, cash management, payables, receivables, payroll, fixed asset management, and cost accounting.
  6. Accounting Advisory: Monitor accounting developments and advise on accounting, compliance, and control gaps, seeking sustainable solutions.
  7. Audit Coordination: Plan and manage internal requirements for year-end financial and pension audits, coordinating with external auditors.
  8. Process Improvement: Develop and document better business processes and financial policies to strengthen internal controls.
  9. Financial Policy Review: Periodically review financial policies to ensure alignment with best practices.
  10. Regulatory Compliance: Manage compliance with local, state, and federal transactional and reporting requirements.
  11. Operational Support: Support leadership and operations team on financial transactions and compliance with corporate guidelines and regulations.
  12. Government Audits: Support government audits through DCAA as finance lead, ensuring compliance with GAAP and FAR regulations.
  13. Budget Process: Lead the budget process and companywide timeline for budgets and business insurance.
  14. Budget Preparation: Prepare annual operating budgets and forecasts by analyzing financial data and historical performance.
  15. Labor and Overheads Rates: Prepare annual and forecasted rates for labor and overheads, including inventory cost calculation.
  16. Profitability Analysis: Analyze costs, expenses, and variances to increase profitability and communicate corrective actions.
  17. Financial Analysis: Provide financial analysis for pricing decisions, contract negotiations, etc.
  18. Risk Management: Monitor and identify financial/business risks and opportunities, communicating risks to management.
  19. Commercial Insurance Management: Manage commercial insurance programs to meet company needs while minimizing costs.
  20. Benefit Plan Support: Support benefit plan renewals, filing, and resolution of compliance issues.
  21. Travel and Expense Management: Manage company travel, expense management system, and corporate credit card program.


Work onsite with some flexibility for remote work.
