What are the responsibilities and job description for the Agritourism Manager position at Mary's Land Farm?
Mary’s Land Farm is a popular farm in Howard County. MD for various agritourism offerings year round, both public and private. We are currently looking to fill the role of Agritourism Manager to deliver the best experiences for our customers before, during and after their visit. Events throughout the year include 4-5 large festivals, private parties and get-togethers, daily private animal encounters. In addition to on-site happenings, farm-to-customer communication and service will be provided by the Agritourism manager.

Agritourism Manager Responsibilities
Assist in organizing, planning and executing festivals and events throughout the year
Manage all aspects of hiring, training, managing part time/seasonal event support staff; Point of contact assigning event staff to their station based on schedule
Manage all private animal encounters, staffing and appointment availability
Work closely with our on-site Inn to integrate stays with farm experiences
Coordinate small-scale, private events: coordinate contract/payment/logistics with client and serve as primary onsite contact
Brainstorm new agritourism developments for the company
Address issues related to event creation and management of online ticket sales
Manage agritourism staffing on weekdays and weekends throughout the year
Stay active and exciting on social media platforms, updating event updates and communications updated according to events calendar
Manage all day-to-day agritourism experiences and employee schedules
Be aware of all farm happenings in order plan accordingly and to answer customer questions
Manage a client-base and communication with farm customers via email, phone, social media messaging for areas inside and outside of agritourism: store, Inn, general questions, etc.
Requirements
Work Wednesday-Sunday, hours vary depending on season; Available to work 20-60 hours a week depending on season; busiest seasons are April-December.
Prior experience working in tourism and/or events required (2 years)
Possess a desire to work in an agricultural business around and with farm animals, be a team player, and willing to lend a hand throughout the farm
Must be available to work weekends and evenings throughout the year especially in busy seasons
Must be proficient in online and web-based platforms
Over the top customer service experience and skills
Great organization skills, keeping all work organized in Google Suites and ready to present and discuss with owners at any point
Able to accommodate a flexible work schedule
Have a reliable form of transportation to farm
Ideal commitment is 2 years
Proficient oral and written communication skills are a must
Pay
This is an hourly-paid position ranging $20-25 an hour depending on experience. There are bonus incentives throughout the year as programs develop.
