Who We Are

Founded in 1999, Maryland Coalition of Families (MCF) is a statewide nonprofit with a central office in Columbia, Md., and staff located in communities throughout the state. Using personal experience as parents, caregivers, youth, and other loved ones, we connect, support, and empower Maryland’s families. Our staff provide one-to-one support to parents and caregivers of loved ones with behavioral health issues. We also advocate to improve systems that impact individuals with behavioral health challenges.

  

General Position Description: The Program Coordinator is responsible for administrative and programmatic tasks critical to the operations of the Program Division. This is a home based position.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leads quality assurance efforts which include conducting file reviews and mid-service surveys of families served, compiling data to report results of these activities to program staff, working with staff to improve documentation when needed and leading trainings for new staff on MCF’s quality assurance program.
  • Manages post-empowerment survey and satisfaction survey process for discharged families.
  • Supports the creation of program event flyers and other materials to market MCF programs and services.
  • Provides administrative support for MCF’s poster contest for Children’s Mental Health Matters.
  • Manages the Customized Goods and Services process, including submission to the Behavioral Health Administration, through and including purchasing of approved items.
  • Conducts assessments with families related to specific MCF contracts.
  • Represents program division on internal committees, projects and initiatives.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree strongly preferred, with focus on human services or social work preferred. Additional related experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • Minimum 3 years’ work experience in an professional office environment
  • Experience working in a nonprofit setting preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and proficiency with using databases to access data.
  • Experience with graphic design programs such as Canva a plus
  • Ability to work independently, anticipate issues and prioritize assignments. 
  • Current valid driver’s license.
  • Successful completion of a background check (required for all MCF employees). 

 Note:  As Maryland’s family support organization, MCF gives preference amongst equally qualified candidates to those who are primary caregivers of a youth, adolescent, or young adult with behavioral health needs.   

 

Hours and Compensation

  • 40 hours/week
  • Salary:  Commensurate with experience 
  • Full benefits including generous paid time off (2-Weeks Vacation, 2-Weeks Sick leave, 3-Personal days, 2-Floating holidays, 11-Holidays per year), health plans, dental, vision, 401(k) and more!
