Human Resources Generalist - Contract position with potential to be hired on.
Our client is a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant with approximately 100 people on site. They are looking for a dynamic, people-oriented HR Generalist that has experience working on site in a manufacturing plant. Pharmaceutical experience would be a plus but not necessary. Potential to become a direct employee depending on experience.
Overview: Responsible for the administration of Human Resources activities for the Bethlehem plant and U.S. sales team, including assisting with processing of bi-weekly payroll and related tasks, administering employee benefit plans, conducting new hire orientations, maintaining personnel records and HRIS data, leave and attendance tracking.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Payroll
- Periodically audit accuracy of data
- Prepare and enter adjustments in the system to correct employee records
- Review time entry validation and other payroll reports to verify accuracy of time-entry and resulting pay implications – follow up to ensure accurate and complete payroll entries
- Prepare overtime, manpower, attendance and other ad hoc reports as needed
- Answer employee questions related to payroll
- Respond to employment verification requests
Recruitment
In coordination with Associate Director and Site Head, raise needed requisitions, post and partner with corporate and if needed outside recruitment agencies to source/identify qualified candidates
Coordinate, schedule interviews, conduct debrief meetings, extend offers, order drug screen and background checks
Benefits / 401K Administration
- Workers Comp administration, tracking and reporting
- Act as point of contact for all employee benefit related questions
- Track and collect premium payments in arrears for employees on leave
- Act as point of contact for all employee 401(k) related questions
HRIS
- Manage and update Human Resource Information System (HRIS) with all applicable records; utilize system to generate required reporting.
- Proactively identify issues based on employee data and bring to the attention of the HR Manager.
HR
- Conduct orientation for new employees regarding Company policies and procedures, benefit programs, and plant rules to ensure full understanding of the conditions and benefits of employees.
- Ensure all employee files are up to date and in compliance with all applicable requirements.
- Report new hires via E-Verify system
- Assist in the resolution of specific policy-related and procedural issues and inquiries presented by management; assist in employee performance counseling, documentation processes and employee relations counseling.
- In conjunction with Social Committee, plan, organize and direct employee activities and events.
- Serve as backup for the Associate Director Human Resources - Americas.
- Assist the Associate Director Human Resources - Americas with other duties and tasks as required, including employee relations activities and services.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree is required; Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- HR certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of benefits and 401(k) administration
- Experience with ADP payroll and HRIS systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to take initiative, work independently with little to no direct supervision as well as part of team.
- PC literacy and experience with MS Office applications required; Outlook, Word, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc. preferred
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
