Special Packaging Worker

Masis Staffing is seeking a Special Packaging Worker for a handwoven textile company in Sanford, Me. Temp-to-hire!! Weekly pay! Entry-Level position - No experience needed!!! Paid on-the-job training!

1st Shift – Monday – Friday – 7 am – 3 pm - $17.50/hour

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Labels and or re-labels rugs.
• Bags and or un-bags rugs.
• Fills special order boxes and cages.
• Packages rug according to specific specifications.
• Help the shippers when needed (filling trucks etc.).
• Build pallets/display boxes/display cages.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team.
• Ability to get along with teammates.

Physical Requirements

• Continuous standing and walking.
• Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines and inspect products.
• You must be able to lift 50 - 75 lbs.
• Warehouse experience a plus but not required.
• Can follow instructions and work well in a team.
• Has the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.POSITION SUMMARY

The Packager position is responsible for packaging and labeling products to meet customer needs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Must be able to read and write English
• Must be able to follow instructions in English and Spanish
• Must have a positive attitude and be a team player
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
• Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English and Spanish
• Ability to recognize types of packaging materials and understand how to correctly use them
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and safety manuals and procedure manuals.
• Ability to follow established procedures for specific tasks such as opening packages, lifting, bending, carrying, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting (up to 50 pounds), pushing, pulling, lifting (up to 50 pounds), bringing in supplies, setting up materials etc. etc.
• Must be able to follow established safety rules such as keeping hands away from the equipment and only using proper hand tools when instructed.
• Ability to recognize unsafe conditions such as overheating equipment or hot temperatures that require caution.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.50 per hour
