We are looking for a driven and high-performing leader with a passion for process to oversee a team of Warehouse Leads and associates responsible for receiving, storing & shipping all customer belongings. This person will report to our GM.
Job Duties:
- Coordinates daily activities within the fulfillment center
- The area manager is responsible for receiving, putaway, picking, and shipping, ensuring that all workflows run smoothly and that customer expectations are met, if not exceeded.
- He/she drives the training and development of his/her team, while motivating and inspiring excellence.
- The area manager job description also involves exercising sound judgment and ensuring that progress and KPI targets are worked towards and met.
- It also entails leading and developing their own teams of both full-time and temporary associates, having one of the main focuses of motivating, mentoring, and coaching their team.
- Area managers engage their team during a shift to maintain the highest levels of safety, quality, and attendance performance.
- Area managers also set performance goals and objectives to help them meet the expectations of customers.
- They are responsible for ensuring security and product loss prevention by ensuring that procedures are strictly adhered to.
- They are also responsible for creating, managing, and supporting recognition and communication programs.
- The area manager is responsible for supporting and promoting all safety programs and OSHA compliance to ensure a safe work environment for all associates.
- Area managers are expected to possess strong team player ability, previous experience as a manager in a distribution center or logistics warehouse, and problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- Must have quick thinking skills, ability to act decisively in a fast-paced environment, as well as willingness and ability to work to flexible schedules and shifts.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 to 5 years related warehouse and/or fulfillment center experience in a multi-client environment.
- 1 year of supervisory experience preferred
- Experience with warehouse equipment
- Experience with warehouse management systems
- PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
