About the position:
This is a full-time, permanent position in our office in Westlake, Ohio, with the possibility of an optional hybrid work model. This person joins a team of talented attorneys and subject matter experts who work collaboratively with software engineers, product managers, and usability experts.
Responsibilities:
The Client Services Paralegal will:
- Collaborate with other members of the Client Services team to analyze state and local codes, track pending legislation, and draft and publish charging information for inclusion in our criminal charging language database
- Research legal issues that may impact our software and our clients
- Test new software applications, features, and reports, particularly as related to charging functionality
- Support system implementations by assisting with the analysis and testing of new client charging instruments
- Assist with projects and assignments as needed
Who we want on our team:
We seek a motivated self-starter who possesses the following qualifications:
- Paralegal certificate or paralegal degree from an ABA-Approved school
- Experience working as a paralegal
- Work and/or educational experience with Criminal Law
- Experience using LexisNexis and/or Westlaw
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient computer skills including MS Office tools
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work individually with minimal supervision
- Sound problem-solving skills and judgment, with the ability to identify and clearly communicate issues
- Willing to ask questions
