Job description
Responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of the SQF code for certification.
Lead and prepare third-party audits and plant inspections with key customers and regulatory agencies.
Apply knowledge to develop and maintain HACCP plans.
Responsible for the document management system, maintaining all QA records.
Development an oversight of the sanitation program including SSOP’s and Master Sanitation Program.
Set up, design and conduct internal audits and monitor all in-process samples and finished products as per established quality methods.
Log, track and report to plant leadership information on SQF system nonconformance’s and corrective action progress.
Develop training materials.
Identify and lead food safety, SQF and HACCP training programs for team members and other key employees.
Responsible for the Food Defense program
Maintain the allergen program, glass and brittle plastics program, and GMP program that support the SQF code.
Approve & monitor chosen suppliers of products & packaging via Approved Supplier Program.
Provide in-depth analytical support in the areas of food safety, sanitation, and quality in support of the Company's strategic goal.
Accept, hold or reject products, in-process samples, and finished goods.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- College education preferred. Related science discipline preferred.
- At least 2-3 years’ experience in quality assurance at a food manufacturing facility.
- Quality experience in processing/packing/distribution environment.
- SQF Practitioner and HACCP certification required. PCQI certification required.
- Ability to read and interpret data related to specific quality criteria determined by our customers.
- Ability to lead and manage projects and multitask.
- Experienced in writing Standard Operating Procedures.
- Experience working with third party auditors.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills, Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point).
- Organized and detail oriented.
- Easily adapts when unexpected situations arise.
- Work with data and details as well as offer ideas and suggestions to improve existing procedures.
- Active listening skills to engage and motivate team members to a common goal.
