Position Title: District Nurse (RN- BSN)
Setting: Elementary - High School (K-12)
Location: Stockton & Lodi, CA
Schedule: Monday-Friday between 7am and 4:30pm (40 hours a week, full-time)
Starts: August 2024
Pay Rate: Varies based on experience (ranges from $55-70 an hour)
Position Description: Our District Nurses work with school aged students in the educational setting. They often perform assessments required by the districts in addition to the daily care needs of the students with medical requirements, interpret medical information and develop Individual Health Plans, participate in IEP and 540 meetings, perform health screenings including hearing and vision testing (if certified), oversee vaccination reconciliation, teach health and wellness curriculum and act as a resource to school faculty and staff regarding health related concerns. These nurses are often referred to as District Nurses or Credentialed Nurses.
- Organizes and provides state mandated health screenings, including making referrals
- Coordinates the training and support of Health Office Assistants through planned meetings,bulletins, in-services, school site visits and observations.
- Consults with and trains, as needed, school personnel working with special needs students who require that specialized health care procedures be performed at school
- Acts as a resource/consultant for site based IEP’s and 504 plans involving medically fragilestudents
- Compiles and submits county and state reports
- Assists with the establishment, implementation and review of policies and procedures related to the district Health Services program
- Orders, distributes, and maintains the health supplies for school health offices
- Participates on district level committees related to health – SARB, Wellness Committee, etc.
- Acts as the district administrator for the Medi-Cal MAA program
Requirements:

- School Nurse Credential or Preliminary Credential
