Why choose Mayer?  We value continuous quality improvement, complete customer satisfaction, hard work, ethical behavior, concern for people, professionalism, and learning and personal growth.  We offer a competitive pay and benefits package, paid training, and opportunities for career growth and promotion within our company.  Apply today!Position SummaryThe Outside Account Manager maintains relationships and obtains orders of existing customers, and secures new customers by calling or visiting.Essential Functions & Key ResponsibilitiesManage all sales activities for specified customers by coordinating a customer sales/service team that includes inside sales associates, project managers, product specialists, and associates from other Mayer service groups.Understands and promotes Mayer’s full line of services to customers (Secure orders from existing and potential customers and sell Mayer services by means of visiting the customer facility and job site(s) or contacting by phone.Make joint calls with manufacturers’ repsand with Mayer specialists.Secure opportunities to quote on customer requirementsand follow up (by phone or visit) on quotations submitted to customers.Establish professional relationships with appropriate customer/vendor personnel (purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, management, other key personnel).Target new accounts; generate account growth in current accounts; follow up on key company initiatives to grow markets; follow-up on qualified leads.Meet margin dollar goals as agreed upon during forecasting with the branch or sales manager.Maintain communications with key internal resources concerning customer relations and respond to concerns in a timely manner.Submit weekly activity/call reports concerning customer-related activities for quotes, orders, and problems concerning customer/vendor relationships.Negotiate and oversee maintenance of profitable, accurate account Maintain key supplier rapport promoting Mayer as First Choice for suppliers while focused on Mayer branding.Additional ResponsibilitiesPerform all assigned duties for assigned accounts.Provide lost business reports on a weekly basis.Provide an updated sales forecast on a monthly basis.Perform assigned duties with minimum supervision.Actively participate in and contribute to Mayer’s Continuous Quality Improvement efforts.Complete assigned training in a timely manner.May participate in or assist with physical inventory preparation or process.Demonstrate commitment to Mayer’s core values and vision to be First Choice with our suppliers, customers, and associates. Complete all other appropriate tasks or duties assigned by supervisor.Required Skills/AbilitiesExcellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skillsSelf-motivated and a self-starterSense of urgency, with excellent sales and customer service skillsAbility to work with minimal Ability to prioritize and multi-task Strong leadership and team building Basic computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and ERPsystemsQualificationsMinimum Requirements:High school diploma or GED.Five years of sales experienceValid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.Desired Qualifications:Some college or technical school training.Two yearsof counter sales experience with Mayer, or previous inside sales experience in the electrical distribution industry.NAED EPEC Bronze certification.OtherWork Environment:The Outside Account Manager’s work isaccomplished in an office setting using a computer and telephone, or a customer site. Travelby vehicleto customer sites to support salesis required.Physical Requirements:Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Occasional climbing, stopping, and kneeling.Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.Travel Requirements:Overnight travel may be required on occasion to attend training or meetings.Extensive travel to customer sites is required.Our pre-employment screenings include employment references, a criminal background check, motor vehicle record check, and a drug test.
