Position Summary
The Delivery Driver position is primarily responsible for driving the delivery vehicle over established routes to deliver products or render services.

No previous experience is required for this position.
Licenses/Certificates
Requires a valid state Driver’s License.
Requires current motor vehicle insurance coverage, with specified limits, on personal vehicle for delivery.
The position may require a Food Handler’s permit dependent upon the laws of the county in which the restaurant is located.
Machines, Tools, Equipment And Work Aids
Bags, baskets, bins, boxes, counters, handtruck, motor vehicle, order forms, pushcarts, sales checks and weight scales.
Working Conditions
The worker is subject to outside environmental conditions, which afford no effective protection from the weather. Exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions caused by the weather, which may cause marked bodily discomfort.
Environmental Hazards
The position is not subject to any significant environmental hazards.
Physical Demands – Strength
The Delivery Driver is required to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Work may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time between deliveries.
Physical/Sensory Demands
The position does not supervise or provide guidance to other employees.
Interpersonal Contacts
Regular internal contacts with staff employees to give and exchange information.
Regular external contacts with customers that require understandable and clear communications to transmit and receive information.
Occasional external contact with guests/customers that requires friendly, pleasant, enthusiastic, understandable and clear communications to transmit and receive information and to maximize the customer’s positive feeling about their dining experience.

- Drive delivery vehicle to deliver such items as beverages, pizza, pasta and sandwiches to customers.
- Collect money from customers and makes change.
- Write up customer order.
- Informs regular customers of new products or services and provides promotion materials to customers.
- Collects or picks up requested merchandise or products.
- Places stock on shelves or racks in preparation for delivery to customers.
- Loads delivery vehicle.
- Maintains vehicle to meet desired level of safety and cleanliness.
- Other miscellaneous activities that might be assigned but a member of management.
Requires the equivalent completion of 8th grade in school in order to be able to:
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form; to solve simple problems requiring standardized solutions.
- Add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure; to perform the four operations with like or common decimal fractions; to compute ratio, rate and percent; to perform arithmetic operations involving all American monetary units.
- Recognize words and word meanings commonly found in procedural instructions business reports and food and non-food product labels, and restaurant menus.
- Construct and write simple sentences containing subject, verb, and object, series of numbers, names and addresses; and
