Logistics Manager

Position Overview:

We are looking for a senior management staff position responsible for the creation and implementation of ongoing logistics operations. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience and knowledge of logistics, scheduling technology, and programming to accomplish these tasks. This position will report to the CEO of a multi-divisional organization, covering all divisions, and will be located in Chattanooga, TN. The successful candidate will have demonstrated performance within an organization, including increased managerial responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise daily operations and personnel, aiming for maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure technology is utilized to the maximum and that staff are well-organized and productive.
• Communicate directly with customers, tenants, landlords, and inspectors.
• Analyze and manage data submitted by customers in Excel spreadsheets, including annual, initial, and follow-up inspection data.
• Develop and maintain logical inspection routes to ensure inspections are conducted within federal guidelines.
• Create annual inspection routes and organize said routes to allow additional add-on inspections.
• Ensure scheduling complies with business rules that adhere to the Customer’s Administrative Plan and HUD SEMAP Requirements.
• Add and maintain information in a web-based database.
• Manage Public Housing Inspection Processes, including scheduling, report creation, and transmission to Housing Authorities (HAs).
• Utilize numerous software and internet programs to accomplish daily tasks.
• Read and interpret the company’s policies and procedures, as well as governmental and contract requirements and guidelines.
• Assist in the development of scheduling strategies associated with governmental and contract requirements.
• Effectively communicate with staff members, co-workers, and supervisors regarding project status and client issues via personal conversation, email, and phone.
• Develop and implement programming solutions to streamline logistics and scheduling processes.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a manager of logistics and scheduling operations or a similar position.
• Knowledge of the general operations and procedures of a Public Housing Agency (PHA) and of local, state, and federal laws governing subsidized housing programs.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply governmental regulations.
• Thorough knowledge of company operating protocols, systems interoperability, and operational goals.
• Proven proficiency in modern office equipment, including multi-line phones, facsimile machines, photocopiers, adding machines, personal computers, and computer printers.
• Proficient in MS Office and/or Google Workspace, spreadsheet management, logistics/scheduling programs, and programming languages (PHP, SQL, Linux).
• Ability to prepare and present ideas in a clear and concise manner, both orally and in written form.
• Ability to establish, maintain, and promote effective working relationships with departmental employees, co-workers, vendors, consultants, contractors, and landlords/tenants.
• Display ability to effectively communicate with people from a broad range of socio-economic backgrounds.
• Ability to work productively in a variety of working conditions and environments.
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills with a problem-solving ability.

Physical Dimensions:

• Moderate work: Exerting minimal force occasionally to move objects less than 25 lbs.

Minimum Education, Training, and/or Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree required, advanced degree a plus.
• Previous logistics experience preferred.
• Programming experience required (PHP, SQL, Linux).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
