What are the responsibilities and job description for the Porter position at McDonald Automotive?
About your role :
The Porter drives vehicles to and from service areas, other locations, and lots as needed. This position assists with vehicle flow within and around the dealership and body shop and helps the service team ensure orderliness and efficiency in vehicle write-up and tagging.
They will provide customer transportation as needed and maintain the Company’s cleanliness of vehicle lots, shops, and customer areas.
Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities :
- Assist with service write-ups and tagging customer vehicles
- Responsible for greeting, acknowledging, and accompanying customers.
- Helps clean shop and service area and maintain the cleanliness of customer areas, as well as runs errands for supplies when necessary.
- Parks and drives vehicles to and from service stalls and parking lot as needed.
- Keeps vehicle lots neat and organized as directed by management.
- Assist with washing and vacuuming vehicles.
- Follows Company safety policies and practices and immediately reports all accidents to the Manager / Supervisor.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
- Follow scheduled hours as needed, defined by your manager.
Education :
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Type of Experience Needed to be Successful :
1-year experience as a porter, valet, or other related driving position is preferred.
Specialized Skills :
- Must maintain a valid state driver’s license to drive any customer or company vehicle.
- Actively looking for ways to help people.
- Ability to operate both manual and automatic vehicles.
- Ability to operate and drive light, medium, & heavy-duty trucks required.
- Comfortable working and driving outside in varying weather conditions.
- Basic MS Office knowledge; computer software / internet proficiency.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment.
