Business Development Leader
Department: Sales
Reports to: Director of Business Development
Supervises: none
Job Purpose: To continually build relationships in the community and win new maintenance contracts that fit the description of an “Ideal Client” while meeting the company goals and improving landscape with proactive problem solving
Responsible Areas and Expectations:
Prospective Clients
Communicating effectively with client prospects.
Focus only on the “Ideal Client”
Ensure all prospective clients are met with the highest degree of customer service
SINGLE POINT OF CONTACT for all prospective clients to build stronger relationships
Work diligently, developing strong relationships in the communities we work
Keep prospective client’s data updated in Aspire (Sales Pipeline)
Sales
Develop relationships with new clients using multiple sales tactics and build a target prospect list
Schedule appointments
Sell new contract work through targeted prospects in the market area
Maintain sales pipeline within the designated marketplace
Prepare contracts within prospective client’s budget
Measure sites for accuracy and bid procedures
Complete all aspects of bid/RFP/proposal required by the company and prospective client
Prepare proposals and present to prospective clients
Participate in sales meetings and one on one meeting with Director of Business Development
Meet annual/monthly company sales goals as outlined in Company Sales Plan
Contributing to the Team Effort
Communicate on a daily basis with Director of Business Development
Be a team player and insure team involvement
Provide accurate and timely paperwork flow from field to office
Work with the Branch Leader to build their needs for a strong P&L
Lead the “hand off” process from Business Development to Production to ensure a successful transition
Professional Development
Responsible for managing personal development plan in the areas of:
leadershiptechnology sales process management horticulture
Out of town seminars may be expected at certain times of the year.
Job Qualifications:
Education
5 years Sales Management OR 5 years Landscape Horticulture practice
